Eye Bolts, generally to DIN 580, are mechanical fasteners with threaded shafts and a ring-shaped head, and are used to attach to a structure in which the ‘eye’ or ‘ring’ can have rope, cable or shackled secured on them.
Often known as Lifting Eyebolts, these fasteners host safe working loads, with lower strength and higher strength eyebolts available for special purposes.
Low-strength eye bolts are often formed from a length of bar with the diameter of the nominal thread size, with the head bent into a ring from an unthreaded section of the bar. These eyebolts can carry axial loads well, but should not be used for off-axis loads.
High-strength eye bolts have forged heads and generally host a substantial shoulder, which enables them to support off-axis loads – which is important in applications that require multiple ‘eyes’.
Manufactured from high quality Steel and Stainless Steel as standard.
Lifting Eye Bolts are available at Fastenright in thread sizes M6 to M100. Lifting Eye Nuts can also be supplied.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
