Headed Brass Inserts for Plastic Suitable for Multiple Applications
Our FasPlas IFP002 Headed Brass Insert for Plastic provides a durable, resilient and reusable thread in thermoplastics. Designed for use with hard, medium and soft thermoplastics, our headed brass insert for plastic can be inserted using ultrasonic or thermal techniques. They should not be used with thermosetting plastics, polyester or foam. The two bands with opposed helical knurls provide excellent torque load resistance. The unique design of the product allows plastic to flow into the two recessed grooves and therefore offers excellent pull out resistance. For further resistance, the headed brass insert for plastic can even be moulded in during production. With lengths ranging from 4 to 15.9mm, head diameters from 4.8 to 19mm and thickness from 0.53 to 2mm – these inserts are suitable for multiple applications.
The heads of these threaded inserts make them particularly useful for use as studs due to their increased capacity to reduce torsion. Made from a very good quality brass, these inserts have an exceptionally high tensile strength. In addition, they are excellent conductors of electricity and resistant to corrosion. They can be inserted into a pre-drilled or moulded hole, or for added resistance they can be attached using a thermal or ultrasonic method. The headed brass inserts can also be moulded into many different types of thermoplastics during the actual process of production. The unique design, with two bands of opposing herringbone knurls provides high resistance to torque and increases pull-out resistance by encouraging the plastic to move into the two recessed grooves. The wide range of lengths, head diameters and internal thread sizes makes these inserts a versatile model for many different situations.
