Insert for Plastic with Rounded Knurls
These corrosion resistant headed brass inserts are for use in amorphous thermoplastics like polycarbonate. They are available with head diameters from 4.8 to 11.1mm and head thicknesses from 0.5 to 1.32mm. They have standardised female threads from M2 to M8 and come in lengths from 3.9 to 12.7mm. These headed brass inserts have a high torsion and pull-out resistance due to the unique form of the two bands of knurls. Amorphous plastics tend to be brittle and notch-sensitive so they often fracture during the insertion process.
However, the high resilience of the top quality brass used in these headed inserts, paired with the gentle curves of the knurls ensure that insertion impact, whether done by ultrasonic, heating or during the moulding process, is greatly reduced.
These first class headed brass inserts offer excellent tensile strength, are resistant to a number of corrosive elements and conduct electricity superbly, making them an ideal choice for a number of different applications.
