Pin Hex Security Grub Screws Dog Point, often referred to as Pin Hex Dog Point Set Screws, are typically made according to ISO 4028 / DIN 915 with pin.
These fully threaded, tamper-resistant fixings are designed to fasten two objects together. They feature a hexagonal drive recess and a circular dog point tip.
During installation with a special Pin Hex wrench or insert bit, the dog point, or extended point, fits into a circular locating hole within the target housing.
This enables the screw shaft to rotate freely without dislodging the part, while ensuring the screw is correctly aligned with the hole.
Extended Point Set Screws are widely used for industrial applications and offer a great alternative to Dowel pins.
Dog Point Pin Hex Security Grub Screws are manufactured from 304 / A2 Stainless Steel and 316 / A4 Stainless Steel as standard, with other materials available to order.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M2 to M20, with lengths up to 120mm. Imperial UNC / UNF threads, typically to ASME B18.3, can also be supplied.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
