Security Pin Hex Socket Cap Captive Screws

Security Pin Hex Socket Cap Captive Screws are designed with an unthreaded portion, or reduced shank, below the head of the fastener – hosting a smaller core diameter.

These components are intended for use with Threaded Captive Washers in order to create a self-retaining fastener. Once installed, they cannot be fully removed from their housing. This prevents loss or damage of fasteners within an assembly.

A special wrench or insert bit is required to install and remove the tamper-proof Pin Hex drive which is suitable for higher torque applications.

Pin Hex Socket Cap Security Captive Screws provide medium security resistance at a relatively low cost. They are designed to conform to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006 – often used for safety guards and panels.

Manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard, with other materials available to order such as Aluminium and Titanium.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M10, with lengths from 12mm to 80mm. UNC and UNF threads are also available.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
