ACME Threaded Rods

ACME Threaded Rods, often referred to as ACME Threaded Bar or ACME Lead Screws, are fully threaded fasteners that host a trapezoidal thread profile.

They are one of the few thread forms that are used to convert rotary motion to linear motion – often for power transmission screws or lead screws in industrial applications such as lathes or CNC machinery.

Unlike Trapezoidal Threaded Rods with a 30° thread angle,  ACME Threaded Rods feature a 29° thread angle and a thread height which is half that of the pitch – designed for use with Hexagon ACME Threaded Nuts and Hexagon ACME Threaded Connector Nuts.

The high strength of this component provides better wear resistance and higher load capabilities, allowing them to be used in applications that require heavy torque.

ACME Threaded Rods are available at Fastenright in outer diameters from 1/4″ to 2 1/2″, with turns per inch ranging from 4 to 16.

Manufactured from Grade 2 Steel, Grade B7 Steel, A2 (304) Stainless Steel and A4 (316) Stainless Steel as standard. We offer a wide range of Threaded Rod in various sizes, materials and finishes.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
