Molybdenum Socket Countersunk Screws, manufactured to DIN 7991 standard / ISO 10642, feature a flat head and hexagonal drive recess – fastened using a standard hex wrench or insert bit.
The hex drive offers greater efficiency compared to other common drive types e.g. slotted and Phillips drives – providing increased cam-out resistance and enabling higher torque levels. Power drivers can be utilised to further reduce installation time.
Once installed into a pre-drilled countersunk hole, the fastener head sits flush with the target housing to provide an aesthetically pleasing finish.
Molybdenum offers strong levels of corrosion resistance and one of the highest melting points of all pure elements – retaining its strength and toughness at elevated temperatures. This makes Molybdenum Socket Countersunk Screws (DIN 7991) great for use in high-pressure and high-temperature applications, or those subject to extreme conditions.
