Tantalum Screws, Fasteners and Fixings
Tantalum is a grey, ductile metal. When in its pure form, it can be used to create a fine wire where it can be used as a filament for evaporating metals like aluminium.
It’s melting point is only exceeded by two other elements, and below 150 degrees is almost immune to chemical attacks. It is more reactive at higher temperatures and has a stable oxide film.
Often used in alloys to add strength, ductility and improve the melting point, tantalum can also be used for electrolytic capacitors and furnace parts, as well as in nuclear reactors and surgical appliances.
Tantalum fasteners are best known for its unmatched corrosion resistance in the industry – as they have a similar resistance to glass but the mechanical properties of a metal.
We can provide Tantalum nuts from M3 to M6 as standard, with pitch sizes from 0.5 to 1mm, as well as tantalum nuts in M3 to M6 and tantalum washers from M3 to M6 with outside diameters ranging from 6.82 to 11.79mm and inside diameters ranging from 3.29 to 6.51mm.
