TX Cap Head Reduced Shank Captive Screws

TX Cap Head Reduced Shank Captive Screws host a 6 Lobe Torx drive which enables higher torque and reduces the chance of cam-out. They are fastened using a mating wrench or insert bit, and can be used with a power driver to reduce installation time.

Once installed alongside a Threaded Captive Washer, captive screws are retained within their target housing and are unable to be fully removed.

These components are often used in safety-critical applications as a requirement by EU Law, as well as in other safety equipment such as guards and panels. They are also widely used within industrial machinery, as well as other applications where the loss of fasteners must be avoided.

TX / Torx Cap Head Reduced Shank Captive Screws are manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard, with specialised materials also available on request such as Aluminium and Titanium.

Available in thread sizes from M2 to M8 as standard, with lengths from 10mm to 60mm. Optional thread locking patches can also be supplied for additional vibration resistance.
