Self-Cutting Insert Nuts (IN19) are primarily designed for use with metals and plastics but may also be suitable for certain types of hardwoods or MDF boards.
The wide slot, which can be case hardened and has a conical lead, cuts the thread into the material. The resulting chips are passed into the internal thread and these need to be removed by air pressure before the insert is used.
These Steel inserts have external thread with diameters from 4.5 x 0.5mm up to 30 x 1.5mm and standardised internal threads from M2.5 up to M24. They are available in lengths from 6mm to 30mm and are available in Steel (can be case hardened), Brass and Stainless Steel.
The Self-Cutting Insert Nut for Plastic and Metal are available in either Zinc or Zinc & Yellow coating which protect them from corrosion. They can be installed manually or by using semi-automatic or fully automatic processes.
Available now in a huge range of sizes – see availability chart below for full specifications.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
