Brass Knurled Shouldered Thumb Nuts (DIN 466)

Brass Knurled Shouldered Thumb Nuts High Type, created to DIN 466 standard, are otherwise known as Knurled Thumb Nuts due to their knurled outer edge. This textured exterior provides a graspable surface to increase friction between hand and fastener – enabling simple installation and removal with no additional tools required.

They host a wide cylindrical head with larger outer diameter for a more even load distribution, as well as a tapped through hole and metric coarse thread. Often utilised in applications where frequent assembly and disassembly may be required e.g. electrical panels or service covers.

While this component can be used alongside any machine threaded bolt or screw, they are even better when partnered with Brass Knurled Shouldered Thumb Screws or Brass Flat Knurled Thumb Screws to create a symmetrical fastener that is easily adjustable from either side.

High Type Brass Knurled Shouldered Thumb Nuts to DIN 466 are available in thread sizes M3 to M12 as standard, with other sizes available on request.

Thumb Nuts are available to order in various materials e.g. A1 Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Titanium and Phosphor Bronze. Brass Nickel Plated is also available on request, increasing both corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
