Combi Non-Spring Self Clinch Captive Panel Fasteners offer a compact, springless design for an alternative to traditional spring-loaded components.
Often used in applications with limited clearance, these fasteners reduce the risk of damage due to loose hardware while providing sufficient access to an assembly.
The self-clinch feature contains knurls below the shoulder of the retainer. Once the mating panel is squeezed against the fastener using a press, the displaced metal from the panel cold flows into the undercut and around the knurled section. This creates a permanent fixing without the need for extra hole preparation.
The smaller screw length allows the panel to remain flush on one side, while the combination slot / Phillips drive enables installation with a standard slotted or Phillips screwdriver.
Combi Non-Spring Self Clinch Captive Panel Fasteners are intended for use in sheet hardness HRB 60 or less on the Rockwell B scale, or HB 107 or less on the Brinell scale.
The screw is made from Hardened Carbon Steel with a Nickel plated finish, while the retainer is made from Carbon Steel with a Nickel plated finish.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M4 with two screw lengths. #4 to #8 Unified threads can also be supplied.
