Gib Head Keys are machine keys that host a projected end that resembles the end of a gib, which serves as a stop mechanism on a rotating shaft.
They are commonly used within engines, motors and motor shafts to hold pulleys and gears tight to a rotating shaft and commercially are quite often found within farming equipment such as harvesters and combines.
Gib Head Keys are created to DIN standard 6887.
Made from cut to length steel, the Gib Keys are then milled across their head and tapered to very specific tolerances to provide a quality finished. They are also available across a range of different materials and finishes to provide an aesthetically pleasing design.
