These Rivet Nut Reduced Countersunk Full Hex Open End help to create a strong thread in thin sheets of material, when the thickness is too small to tap a conventional thread, for high strength fastening from bolts and other threaded articles.
Their full hexagon body can be inserted into hexagon drilled holes which prevent the rivet nut from turning or spinning after installation.
The open end style of the rivet nuts allows the stud, or male threaded component, to thread through the rivet nut without limiting the length or protrusion of the male threaded part.
The reduced countersunk head allows the rivet nut to be installed in applications without extra hole preparation, provides a flush fit within the application and allows them to be installed in pre-coated applications.
These Rivet Nut Reduced Countersunk Full Hex Open End with a smooth body are installed using a special tool with a threaded stud, which engages with internal threads within the rivet and pulls upwards. This deforms the unthreaded section of the rivet nut under the reverse side of the material – providing a high strength permanent thread in thin sheet materials.
