Rivet Nut Reduced Csk Head Half Hex Closed End fasteners have a reduced csk head, a half hex body and a closed end.
Often referred to as Rivnuts, Blind Nuts, Thin Sheet Nuts or Nutserts, they can be installed near flush into a pre-punched hex hole for an aesthetically pleasing finish. The hex body eliminates any possibility of turning via over-torque of the mating screw fastener.
These internally threaded inserts are often used in applications where the material thickness is too small to tap a conventional thread. Therefore by using rivet nuts, a strong thread is created in thin sheets of material for high strength fastening of threaded components.
The reduced countersunk head allows the rivet nut to be used in applications without any extra hole preparation. This enables these rivet nuts to be installed in post-painted or pre-coated applications without damaging the surface.
They are installed using a special tool with a threaded stud (nose) that engages with the internal threads of the rivet nut. During installation, the unthreaded section is deformed under the reverse side of the material for a secure fixing.
Reduced Countersunk Half Hex Closed End Rivet Nuts are typically manufactured from 304 / A2 Stainless Steel, 316 / A4 Stainless Steel, and Zinc Plated Steel.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M12.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
