Security E5 Drive Captive Screws

Security E5 Drive Captive screws feature a unique external non-slip drive with five slots and a smooth domed head.

The unthreaded portion, or reduced shank, below the head features a smaller core diameter and is designed for use with a Threaded Captive Washer. Once the washer is installed past the thread, this screw cannot be fully removed from its housing.

E5 Drive Security Captive screws are tamper-resistant and are ideal for use in higher torque applications. The unique E5 drive is designed to reduce and resist cam-out – requiring a special E5 insert bit for installation and removal.

Captive screws are designed to conform to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006. They are often found in safety panels and guards for industrial machinery, as well as applications where the loss of fasteners must be avoided.

Manufactured from A2 / 304 Stainless Steel as standard.

Available at Fastenright in micro sizes from M2 to M5, and lengths from 8mm to 50mm. Optional thread locking patches are also available on request.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
