Security Pin Hex Countersunk Head Captive Screws are a variation of screws to DIN 7991 standard but host a pin in the middle of the hexagonal drive for additional security.
The vandal resistant Pin Hex drive is installed and removed using a special Pin Hex wrench or insert bit – offering medium security resistance at a relatively low cost.
They also feature an unthreaded portion below the head with a reduced core diameter, often referred to as the reduced shank. When used alongside Threaded Captive Washers, they cannot be fully removed from their housing.
Pin Hex Countersunk Security Captive screws are designed to conform to the EU Machine Safety Directive 2006 and are often used for safety guards and panels.
Manufactured from A2 / 304 and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel as standard. Other materials are available to order such as Aluminium and Titanium.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M2 to M24, with lengths from 8mm to 200mm. UNC and UNF threads are also available. Thread locking patches can be supplied for increased vibration resistance.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
