Slotted Mushroom Head Barrel Nuts

Slotted Mushroom Head Barrel Nuts, otherwise referred to as Slotted Mush Head Sleeve Nuts or Interscrews, are designed to clamp two or more pieces of material together.

This internally threaded barrel nut hosts a large mushroom, or mush head, which provides a larger bearing surface compared to other head styles for greater load distribution. It can also feature knurling on the underside of the head for improved retention.

The deep slotted drive enables installation with a standard flat blade screwdriver – no special tools required. Slotted Mushroom Head Barrel Nuts are often used for architectural applications as they offer a clean, low-profile finish.

The corresponding Slotted Mushroom Head Machine Screws are also available at Fastenright. This creates a matching set for a symmetrical fastening.

Note: When calculating the required screw length, it is important to take into account the overall length of the barrel nut and the length of the internal thread. The overall length is measured from the underside of the head to the end of the fastener.

These components are typically manufactured from Steel and Stainless Steel as standard. Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M4 to M8, with lengths up to 50mm.
