Slotted Reduced Thread Captive Thumb Screws

Slotted Captive Thumb Screws are a specialised variant of thumb screws to DIN 465 standard which feature a slot through the centre of the head – enabling installation with a slotted screwdriver.

Their large head and knurled outer edge provides additional grip and increases usability by hand.

Captive Screws feature an unthreaded portion below the head, otherwise referred to as a reduced thread. They create a self-retaining fastener when installed alongside Threaded Captive Washers, which prevents full removal of the screw and helps to avoid loss or damage of components.

Slotted Captive Thumb Screws are designed to be compliant with the EU machine safety directive and are often utilised for fastening sheet metal or captive panels.

Manufactured from A1 / 303 Stainless Steel as standard. Other materials are available to order including Aluminium and Titanium.

Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M3 to M6, with lengths from 12mm to 20mm. Optional thread locking patches are also available on request.

Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
