Vented Socket Countersunk Head Machine Screws, created to DIN 7991 specification, have a hexagonal recess and are driven using a hex wrench or insert bit – making the screws more efficient than the slotted screw products, due to the hex socket drive having more resistance to cam out. They can also be used with power drivers, enabling faster use and higher achievable torque.
The vent in this screw would be to let air voids left from the fastener being threaded into a hole escape, avoiding a virtual leak.
Available at Fastenright in Steel grade 10.9, A2 / 304 Stainless Steel, A4 / 316 Stainless Steel, Brass, Aluminium and Titanium.
Thread sizes M3 to M30, with lengths from 4mm to 100mm onwards.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
