The Stover Trilock Nut to DIN 980V is a single piece, all-metal prevailing torque hex self-locking nut – designed to prevent the effects of shocks and vibration.
Unlike the elliptical DIN 980V Stover Nut, these components feature a cylindrical thread shape with a three-point prevailing torque element positioned on the face of the nut.
During installation, the nut will run smoothly until it reaches the deformed thread, after which the clamping force will increase to provide a secure fixing.
Although they are known as lock nuts, Stover Nuts can be removed and reused a finite number of times. However, the locking threads will degrade after each use.
Stover Trilock Nuts are often used for automotive and industrial applications, as well as domestic appliances such as washing machines.
The DIN 980V Stover Trilock Nut is typically manufactured from Steel Grade 8, Steel Grade 10, A2 / 304 Stainless Steel and A4 / 316 Stainless Steel.
Available at Fastenright in thread sizes M2.5 to M24, with non-standard sizes available to order. Fine Pitch and Extra Fine Pitch variants can also be supplied.
