Vented Socket Button Flange Head Machine Screws have a rounded design with a larger surface area which helps to spread the load across a greater surface area and reduces damage to mating parts. This makes it ideal in decorative applications.
The vent in this screw is to remove trapped gases at the bottom of blind threads, which are often left after voids of air or gas are unable to fully evacuate after a fastener has been threaded into a hole.
These screws have a hexagonal recess and are driven using a hex wrench or an insert bit, making them much more efficient than slotted screw products. This is due to the hex socket drive having more resistance to cam out and their ability to use power drivers.
Vented Socket Button Flange Head Machine screws are made to ISO 7380F, but with an added vent and available in Steel grade 10.9, with other materials such as Stainless Steel, Brass, Aluminium and Titanium available upon request.
They are available from M3 to M16 at Fastenright, with lengths from 6mm to 90mm.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and bespoke parts made to drawings. Minimum order quantities apply.
