Vented Socket Button Screws

A2 Stainless Steel Vented Socket Button Screws, which can also be referred to as Vacuum Socket Button Screws, created to ISO 7380, for the removal of virtual leaks.

A virtual leak is created when a blind tapped hole in a vacuum system has left air space that cannot be fully evacuated as a fastener is threaded into the hole – as well as the screw itself containing voids of trapped air due to its large surface area. Over time, vibration might cause a loosening of the screw, which releases the trapped gas, creating a virtual leak.

These screws help to eliminate virtual leaks from high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum systems and also improve pump down times. The central ventilation hole, which runs through the middle of the screw, removes trapped gases at the bottom of the screw hole, which would not otherwise be fully evacuated. These parts are most effective when used alongside a vented washer.

Vented button screws available in A2 Stainless Steel from Fastenright, in thread diameters from M3 to M6 and lengths ranging from 3mm to 25mm.

A4 Stainless Steel screws are also available to order. along with Silver, Gold, Nickel and other coatings.
