Security nuts are typically used in applications where the male mating fastener is not in view or accessible, but the application must be secured to resist theft or tamper by securing the thread with a security nut. Tamper-proof nuts are suitable for use with any bolt, screw or stud with a mating machine thread and are largely stocked in a metric thread; imperial threads are also available.

Anti-tamper / tamper proof nuts

Most security nuts are available from stock, with other sizes and materials available to order. Security barrel nuts can be manufactured as part of a security sex bolt set with a matching male part.
