Shield Type Dome Head Shear Bolt Anchors are one-way permanent fixings, suitable for higher torque applications in which maintenance is not actively required. They are often referred to as expansion bolts or expansion anchors.
Hosting a hexagonal nut which can be tightened with a standard spanner or socket, the nut section is fully tightened until the pressure applied surpasses the maximum torque limit – causing the hexagonal part of the shear bolt to snap and leave a plain, tamper-resistant cone shape.
They can also be referred to as; Snap Off Nut Anchors, Break Away Nut Anchors, Break Away Head Anchors, Shear Bolt Anchors, Security Snap Off Anchors and Perma Bolt Anchors.
Offering a high level of resistance to vandalism and theft, they are typically used in prisons, perimeter fencing, railing, security windows and door frames.
Available in Stainless Steel as standard from Fastenright, with diameters and lengths ranging across M8 x 55, M8 x 75 and M8 x 95.
Non-standard sizes and materials are available to order as specials, including custom parts made to drawings.
