Electro-Plating Services
As we are based within the West Midlands, United Kingdom, we’re strategically located near a number of major plating organisations meaning that we can offer almost any plating specification requested by customers – all in relatively short lead time. In the vast majority of cases, we are able to get jobs into the platers on the same day.
What are the benefits of Electro-Plating?
- Reduction of Friction
Plating with nickel can reduce the friction in a number of materials and products, like electrical connectors. Nickel is good for improving performance and reduces premature wear and tear.
- Heat Resistance
Plating with materials like gold or a zinc-nickel alloy are capable of withstanding high temperatures. Plating with these materials is good for engine parts and such where the components may be exposed to extreme temperatures – extending their life span.
- Appearance Enhancement
Plating the fastener is a cost-effective way of making the component a more aesthetically pleasing product.
- Increased Hardness
If the material of the fastener is brittle, electroplating can make it stronger and more durable, meaning they are less susceptible to being damaged and therefore increasing their life span.
- Prevention of Tarnishing
If the fastener or fixing is likely to be tarnished or scratched, electro-plating can reduce the likelihood of aesthetic damage.
Whilst there are many more positives associated with electro-plating, these are some of the most common reasons to consider the process.
